George Arnold worked in Hangchow, (Shien Chiao), China, along with eight other Americans, as Vice President and General Manager of the Central Aircraft Manufacturing Company which was established to teach the Chinese how to build airplanes. They assembled Northrup and Vultee attack bombers and Curtiss fighters. They also manufactured Curtiss fighters until the factory was bombed out by the Japanese in 1937. |
