BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES-1
via email from Norm Whitlach, 8-12-04
I am sending you the 2 pictures I have and will look for more. I am just going thru a few things that were given to me by my mother. The photo of John in leather has his name "John Daniel Probst Jr. Waco Texas March 1918" on the back.
John was the brother of Judy Probst (never married). Judy lived in Altadena Calif. then moved to South Laguna Beach were she died. I will follow up with more info if you think this is the John Probst you are looking for.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES-2
Contributed by S. Piet de Camp
Dan Probst was a flight instructor at the old Newark Airport in New Jersey. He was a good friend of my Aunt, Alfreda "Billie" Schwarz and taught her to fly. She was the first woman pilot in New Jersey. She owned a Dehaviland Gypsy Moth biplane and later a Curtis Robin High wing cabin airplane. Perhaps she should be in your web site.
Dan was killed during a flight lesson. Billie told me that a student apparently froze at the controls and they both were killed. I have some pictures of Dan and my Aunt Billie. One of them is me at one year old in 1932 sitting in the open cockpit of the Dehaviland. In.1949 I became a pilot myself.
