MOISANT SCHOOL - 1913 Photos and comments in Spanish courtesy of Juan Manuel Quesada F.      I am sending four photographs to you which belonged to Nannini Sandoval when he was in the Moisant School, during the months of March to September in 1913. On this photograph, Nannini wrote on the back: "Practicing at the aviation school, my first failure." There is a seal which indentifies the photographer Selph Burt, of Mineola, N.Y. I do not know the type of it airplane in which it is.      En la primera él anotó al dorso: de práctica en la escuela de aviación, mi primer fracaso y esta el sello de: Selph Burt Photograper Mineola, N.Y. Desconozco el tipo de aeroplano en que está.

 

In this picture can be seen some of the many hangars at the Moisant School. In the left background, a young lady can be seen leaning against a Blériot. I suppose she might be Miss Matilde (Kimn) Moisant, but I can't be sure.      En donde se ven los hangares de la escuela, que por cierto son muchos y una señorita recostada en el Blériot, no dice nada. Supongo que la señorita es Matilde (Kim) Moisant, pero no lo sé.

 

Naninni Sandoval and his flying compatriot and friend. can be seen sitting in this Blériot. On the back he has written: "New Orleans Oct. 8 1913. In memory of Dante Nannini Sandoval. Pilot 265. He graduated as a pilot on the 1st of September, 1913."      En donde se encuentra en el Blériot con otro amigo atrás de él anotó al dorso: New Orleáns Oct. 8 1913. Recuerdo de su compatriota aviador y amigo. Dante Nannini Sandoval. Piloto 265. El se había graduado de piloto el 1º. De septiembre de 1913.

 

In this photo, Nannini and his friend are playing polo using a car. I think it may also have been taken at the Moisant School because the driver of the car is the same person who was seen in the aeroplane in back of Nannini in the previous picture.      Esta otra fotografía en donde esta jugando polo en carro, pienso que también fue tomada en la Moisant, pues quien conduce el carro es el la misma persona de la fotografía anterior que esta en el aeroplano atrás de Nannini Sandoval.
