The Blue Streak was an experimental two-engine airplane tjhat was owned by The Chicago Daily News and crashed on May 26, 1930. Loaded with cargo, the aircraft was torn apart in flight by vibration in its rear propeller drive shaft, which killed pilot Shirley J. Short and two crew members. Shirley J. It will take you to a photograph of Short accepting the Colyer Trophy which was awarded for safety to the U. S. Air Mail Service for two separate years.
