WALTER MARRIES LOA LLOYD AND GETS FIRST JOB

When Pops graduated from the Curtiss School at North Island, San Diego, he got his first job in Chicago flying for Steward McDonald. He had an F-Boat named "Alice" which he kept on the lagoon at the reserve Yacht Harbor at Grant Park. I am sure we only had $65 cash and rented a two room apartment on Central Park. We were married in the apartment at 3441 Monroe Street.
I rode with Pops a few days after we were married. It was no time at all when Pops was sent to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to carry passengers. We rented a room at a Mrs. Burton and Pops --- oh so carefully carried passengers at $15 and $20 each.
