     "On May 13th 1912 the first three squadrons of the Royal Flying Corps were formed. No.3 Squadron was the only one already equipped with, and operating aeroplanes and therefore was the first unit in the UK to fly heavier-than-air machines.
     This CD, Volume 1 of the unit's history, has detailed descriptions of the flying activities, the machines and the men from those very early days until 1918.
      Edited by Jack Long the CD-ROM contains over 300 contemporary documents and photographs of aircraft and, it gives a unique insight into the premier Fighter Squadron of the Royal Air Force.
