CHAVEZ IN
DOMODOSSOLA
2005

One of our most faithful contributors to this website, Giovanni Giorgetti, was able to make a visit to the town of Domodossola, the site of the Chavez crash landing on September 27, 1910. On this page you will find some of the most interesting photographs he took of the many memorials to his feat. He also visited the little Chavez Museum where are conserved many relics including a portion of a wing from the plane, his portrait and death mask, and the anorak (jacket) he wore. I am very grateful to Giovanni for his continuing support.

ONLINE RESOURCES
Giovanni has suggested two links which offer additional information on Chavez.

ala tricolore
This is a website which offers a number of sections devoted to Italian aviation. At this writing, (4-2-05) it is only available in Italian, although there are plans to build an English version in the near future. If you read Italian, you can enjoy sections featuring Velivoli Storici (Military Aircraft), Velivoli Odierni, (Current Aircraft), Calendario Manifestazioni, (Schedule of events), Musei in Italia, (Italian Museums), and Monumenti Aviatori, (Aviation Monuments), among many others.
By clicking on the title, "ala tricolore", and then clicking on "Italiano" at the lower left corner of the homepage, you will access a page on which are listed all of the sections. If you scroll down, you will find "Monumenti Aviatori". If you click on that link, you will access a page on which the photos of Giovanni Giorgetti can be displayed in a greatly enlarged format.
If you read Italian, I am sure you will find this website to be a very valuable resource.

Studio Fotographico Carlo Pessina
via email from Giovanni Giorgetti, 3-19-05
The Carlo Pessina photography studio has many interesting photos concerning Geo Chavez. The studio is in Via Briona, 13/15 - 28037 Domodossola (No) - Italy. Tel. 0324 242424.
Editor's Note: You can access the Carlo Pessina website by clicking on the title above. The site is written entirely in Italian, but even I was able to view many of the items which are offered. If time permits, I suggest that you click on "Catalogo" and sample some of the products which are displayed. I wasn't able to find any items specifically related to Chavez, but I plan to contact the owner and pursue that search.
