WASHINGTON, D.C. On April 16, 1902, Alfredo Santos-Dumont was received in the White House by Theodore Roosevelt , President of the United States. In October of 1973, the Centennial year of Santos-Dumont's birth, the Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature (WGPSN). of the International Astronomical Union, upon a proposal from the National Air and Space Museum of the "Smithsonian Institution" of Washington gave the name of Santos Dumont to one of craters of the Moon.
