Editors Note: My father-in-law, Walter E. Lees, worked with Captain Woolson at Packard during the development of this engine. In 1931, flying a Bellanca 'Pacemaker", NR782W J-2, powered by this engine, he and his co-pilot, Fred Brossy, set an endurance record which lasted until the Voyager's flight in 1986.
