Duluthian First to Carry Mail
in Illinois in Aeroplane.
Tells of Interest.
Harry J. Webster of Duluth has won attention in Illinois by being the first aviator to carry mail over the
state in an aero-plane. In a post card to the News Tribune Harry writes the following, "Greetings from the sky. Thousands of people
watched me carry the first aeroplane mail in the state of Illinois authorized by the United States government, 300 feet over Rock
Island, Ill, Davenport Iowa and Moline, Ill. " Webster's license number is 290.
