Luke Field, Hawaii via email from Roy Nagl, 4-5-05 I thought you would enjoy seeing the attached vintage photo, that I recently obtained, showing, what appears to be, two people water skiing behind a Curtiss flying boat, in American military service, at Luke Field, Hawaii! I wonder if anyone had ever asked Walter Lees to tow water skiers, when he flew flying boats! It doesn't look like it would be too good for the aircraft's airframe! Just kidding, but now I understand why the United States Navy wanted these flying boats! Roy |
