Translation by Aurelian Simionescu, 9-27-07
"Nicolae Costin was born in Bessarabia (nowadays Republic of Moldova). He was a very skilled Farman airplane pilot. On March 20th, 1911 he made a demonstration flight from the Chitila airfield with a Henry Farman model 1910 airplane. On that occasion, he established a new national altitude record (850 m)."

There is an excellent article on the history of the Chitila Piloting School (in Romanian) at:
Chitila Piloting School

with numerous photographs and references to Negrescu, Vlaicu, Macri, Bibescu and Goliescu (featured on your website).
In the same article there are mentioned 2 early pilots: Robert Catargi and Nicolae Costin - unknown to me.
