AIR PIONEER FRED G. EELLS DEAD AT 78
BATH--Fred G. Eells, 78, formerly of Bath and Geneva, an aviation pioneer, died yesterday, Nov. 6, 1965 at Eustis, Fla. after a lengthy illness.
     He is credited with being the first to fly over Bath and Rochester, in an airplane he constructed.
     Its engine was a Bath-made Kirkham motor, among the first aircraft powerplants.
     Mr. Eells was an Army pilot in World War I and a retired machinist from the American Can Co. in Geneva.
     Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Katherine Barrett and a niece, Mrs. Lloyd Sprague, both of Hammondsport, RD.
     Friends may call at the Fagan Funeral Home in Bath from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
     Services will be conducted there at 2 p.m. tomorrow with Rev. Clair Statham of Hammondsport officiating., Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.
